Wavelink and van der Laan DG Partner to Improve Mobility and Point-of-Care Treatment in Hospitals

van der Laan DG provides training and installation of Wavelink software for wireless needs of hospitals and other healthcare providers

MIDVALE, UTAH — AUGUST 27, 2008 — Wavelink Corporation today announced that van der Laan Design Group (DG) has become a Wavelink Certified Service Provider, qualifying the company to deliver Wavelink® Certified Professional Services nationwide.

van der Laan DG provides services including mobile software development, infrastructure implementation and large-scale automation, with a focus on hospitals and the healthcare industry. The company has extensive experience with Wavelink and other mobility software.

“With compliance and regulatory issues, hospitals and other healthcare organizations have specific guidelines to adhere to when setting up and managing their wireless networks,” said Mikell van der Laan, CEO of van der Laan DG. “Wavelink provides a very powerful solution that meets the complex regulatory requirements for hospitals yet remains easy to set up and manage.”

While acute clinical care is one of the hottest technology deployments in healthcare, the lack of centralized management of mobile devices has been a major obstacle in widespread adoption. By placing an ID tag or band on a patient at the time of admittance to create an electronic medical administration record (EMAR), a patient’s information is available online instantly to care providers and allows verification of a patient’s history, pain management and medication order from a quick scan of a mobile device.

Wavelink supports point-of-care applications and devices to reduce in-hospital errors and dramatically increase acceptance of such systems by clinicians. Wavelink software manages mobile devices used by these point-of-care applications by ensuring the devices have current software updates, security and remote administration from the helpdesk.

Wavelink President Lamar Van Wagenen said, “van der Laan DG brings proven experience with integrating Wavelink products into the unique regulatory requirements of the healthcare market. We are excited to be able to work with them to deliver our Certified Professional Services to healthcare companies and other Auto ID and RFID industries.”

Wavelink Certified Professional Services provide expert installation and training of all Wavelink products, including the enterprise management solution Avalanche Mobility Center™, so customers can deploy and utilize Wavelink applications quickly and effectively. By using Wavelink Certified Professional Services, customers achieve increased productivity and a solid return on investment (ROI) in a shorter amount of time than if they had installed the system themselves. Wavelink Certified Professional Services are available in standard packages for installation, configuration, and/or training, as well as customizable packages for unique needs.
